Tired of reading newspapers and research magazines? There is another option.
The Case Reserve Review is Case Western’s only undergraduate literary magazine. It hit coffee tables around campus in 2005 after being shelved for a number of years.
It publishes fiction, short prose, and poetry written by Case students and features student photography.
Selections are chosen twice a year, once each semester. It is about 50 pages long and averages about 40 entries per issue.
Entries are chosen by the Case Reserve Review staff. They are read aloud and voted on, with majority rule. Winners are not compensated monetarily, but they are published for free. They also get the opportunity for students around campus to read their work.
According to Jack Rooney, a Student Reader and next in line for editor in chief of the Review, goals for the magazine include expanding the pool of submissions and making the magazine more accessible to readers outside of the Case community.
Look for the Spring 2010 issue in all buildings on campus after Spring Break.
